THE HISTORY BEHIND IT:
In 2009 we started as a manufacturer of aluminum rims to bring our own designs onto the market. This dream came true with the XCUT500 concave as Flow Formed wheel in 2012. 882 wheels were delivered to the new company headquarters, our own new building in Friedrichshafen. By 2019, Pogea Racing GmbH had eight own designs in its portfolio. With the sale of the XCUT Flow Formed in 2015, we decided to stop producing cast rims, to stop producing flow formed wheels and to concentrate exclusively on the production of forged wheels. Until 2019 Pogea Racing GmbH produced the forged wheels in Asia with one of the highest quality and most recognized manufacturers in the world.
The wheel capacities became so high from summer 2019 that the production and, above all, the shipping and logistics of the wheels were no longer up to date. The decision was made, either to purchase CNC machines and blanks - or to find a new cooperation partner who can deliver both: our high quality standards and the number of pieces in a reasonable time frame. The focus of our actions was, that we wanted to reduce the CO2 footprint of our company and also wanted to eliminate the supply chains from Asia or try to reduce them to a minimum and to produce sustainably and to further support a German company.
One of our partner companies recommended the ROC FERTIGUNG24 in Freudenstadt. They work with forged blanks from Fuchsfelge from Meinerzhagen. It didn't take long and with an unbelievable speed of less than three weeks we were able to start our production in Germany and thus set a new milestone for us. Pogea Racing GmbH now produces the wheel designs XCUT, BLADE, EDISON, ORBI5, QM and JULES exclusively in Freudenstadt. The two wheels from the POGEA CLASSICS series WILHELM and CC58 remain in Asian production because of the very complicated chroming processes, that are partially not even possible in Europe.
Pogea Racing is now working on the new FX911 design, which will be a modern interpretation of a classic wheel design. These wheels will also be FORGED IN GERMANY - this labeling now represent all wheels that we will be producing in Germany from now on, Nov. 2020.
